Creamy transitional cereal for kittens 4-8 weeks old that provides a complete diet to introduce nursing kittens to solid food.

  • Made to follow KMR or mother's milk.
  • Contains beef and natural milk protein.
  • High digestibility and easy-to-use convenience.
  • Powder does not require refrigeration.
Directions for Mixing: Kittens that are up on their feet and lapping from a bowl may be introduced to KMR 2nd Step. Begin by offering it as a thin gruel. Determine the amount of KMR 2nd Step powder to be fed to the kitten at each feeding using the Feeding Guideline. Reconstitute powder by using 3 parts (a part is any measuring device, i.e. teaspoon, tablespoon or cup) liquid KMR or water to 1 part powder for the first few days. Offer only small amounts and remove the uneaten portion after no more than 20 minutes. Kittens should be fed 3 times per day. Weigh the kittens at least once a week to monitor weight gain and adequacy of feeding. As kittens grow, decrease the amount of water mixed with the powder until weaning food is an oatmeal consistency. Consult your veterinarians for additional advice. Directions for Feeding: KMR 2nd Step should be lapped out of a bowl and not fed from a bottle. KMR 2nd Step has been formulated to meet the nutritional needs of young kittens being weaned from mother or bottle fed kittens progressing to solid foods. For best results, the product should be mixed with ready to feed liquid KMR or reconstituted powder KMR to give the consistency necessary to get good food consumption. If KMR is not available, water may be used. Fresh, clean water should always be available for drinking. It is recommended that KMR 2nd Step be fed until kittens are 7 or 8 weeks old when they can be fed commercial kitten or cat food as desired. All changes in diet should be made gradually over a period of one week. Feeding Guidelines: Feed kittens three times per day Small kittens (8 oz. average) ........................... 2 teaspoons powder Medium kittens (1 1/2 lbs. average) .............. 2 tablespoons powder Large kittens (3 lbs. average) ....................... 4 tablespoons powder More or less food may be needed by individual kittens to satisfy their food requirements for optimum performance. Storage: Powder does not needs to be refrigerated but should be kept covered and stored in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to excessive temperature.
